Host/Cashier - Coach - Mobile Unit Operator

As a member of our team, your role will be to share Iron Axe Society’s enthusiasm for axe throwing by providing a safe and exciting experience to our guests. You will oversee all aspects of customer interaction from the time guests walk in until they leave.

Your Responsibilities

Leadership: As the face of Iron Axe Society, you will need to share our passion for axe throwing in a fun and professional manner.

Coaching: You will be responsible for teaching guests how to safely throw an axe and improve their technique throughout their visit.

Bartending: Serve alcoholic beverages (beer and unfortified wine) to customers at the bar. ID customers to confirm legal drinking age and comply with food and beverage regulations.

Operations: You will be responsible for overseeing daily, weekly, an ad-hoc events, including tournament set-up, scoring, food and beverage ordering, payment processing, and more.

Safety: You will ensure that all equipment is maintained up to our high standards, all procedures are followed by guests and other staff.

Facilities: You will support the entire Iron Axe Society team to get the job done and provide our guests with the most entertaining visit possible! This may include apparel and merchandise sales, set-up, and clean-up as needed.

Qualifications

You must LOVE throwing axes! Don’t worry if you haven’t tried it yet, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

You have a positive personality and enjoy working with people in a fun setting.

You have a strong interest in coaching and teaching, and an enthusiasm for teaching people.

You have strong leadership skills, displaying high confidence to manage group dynamics in a setting of friendly competition.

You excel in a team environment, fostering a culture of respect, healthy competition, and inclusiveness for ALL guests and staff.

You have a results-oriented mindset, doing what needs to be done and taking initiative to prevent problems before they occur.

You are adaptable, capable of responding to unanticipated situations on the fly, managing multiple activities, and prioritizing competing demands while maintaining a fun atmosphere.

You are flexible to work variable shifts between 11:00am – 11:00pm.

Your availability to work public holidays is an asset.

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

21 years of age and older is preferred

Alcohol Awareness Certification, preferred
